RICHMOND, Va. (WATE) — Detectives arrested a suspect they believe shot and killed a Richmond firefighter while he was trying to save a car stuck on fire.
Christopher Pacheco, 28, of East Orange is charged with malicious wounding and malicious destruction of property. Authorities say the case is ongoing.
At around 5 p.m. Tuesday, a fire started at a home that was set on fire along Route 16E in the 7800 block of Spring Street in the Red Rock section of Richmond.
Firefighters found that an electrical box in the car had beenjarvees.com knocked out and had been left running without power. The home wasn’t even damaged and is now fully occupied.
Investigators say Pacheco returned and bega바카라n shooting at the man before he fell in behind.

Police, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the scene.
Pacheco’s aunt, Valerie, posted a statement on Facebook, saying, “After this evening’s events, we feel our entire family is under the same intense stress, even though we only know this was not our son. We would ask you to respect our privacy, and for their privacy, please take note they did not choose to kill their son.”
He is being held without bond at the Monroe County Detention Facility.
